The Mercer Island girls tennis team will begin the post season on Tuesday, May 7 by hosting the 3A KingCo tennis tournament.

Teams will begin play at 10 a.m. at the MIHS courts. Be advised that spectators and teams are being asked to park at the Boys & Girls Club parking lot, not in any of the MIHS or Mary Wayte Pool lots.

Below you’ll find the brackets for both the singles and doubles competition. The championship games will take place on Wednesday, May 8 in the afternoon.

KingCo fastpitch bracket

Below you’ll find the KingCo tournament bracket for the faspitch teams. The bracket hasn’t been finalized yet, as a few teams are still playing regular season games.

The top six teams make the tournament, and the top four teams will advance to the SeaKing tournament which begins May 16 at Lower Woodland Park in Seattle. The KingCo tournament is being played this year at Hartman Park in Redmond May 9-10.

While things are completely final, it looks like Mercer Island will finish at the No. 5 team with a 3-10 league record. If the standings remain the same, the Islanders would play the No. 3 team in the first round. The first set of games is loser out.

These brackets aren’t final, but a pretty good guess.

Below is the schedule for the KingCo boys soccer tournament, which starts on Tuesday, May 7.

The winner of the regular season title automatically earns a spot in the 3A state tournament. The remaining teams must battle it out for the second spot, which then plays a Metro team for the final District 2 spot into the tournament.

While not finalized, it appears the Islanders will be the No. 4 team in the conference with a 6-3-5 record. Liberty and Mount Si are the No. 1 and 2 teams.

Games will be played at the No. 2 team’s home field, which if the standings remain the same would be Mount Si.

Brackets aren’t finalized, but this is a pretty good guess.

The KingCo baseball tournament will begin on Tuesday, May 7 at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue.

Though the brackets aren’t finalized the Islanders will likely finish as the No. 3 team with a 7-6 league and 11-8 overall record.

The top team from the tournament will automatically earn a spot in the 3A state tournament, while the No. 2 team will have to play a win-to-get-in game against a Metro team to battle for the final spot at state from District 2.

While not final, the bracket below is a pretty good guess.

Here’s a press release from Washington High School Lacrosse:

Friday’s Washington state boys prep lacrosse matchup between Mercer Island High School and defending boys state champion Bellevue High School will be streamed live on The Lacrosse Network as the Washington State High School Lacrosse Game of the Week.

The boys varsity game, which gets underway at 8 p.m. PDT, Friday, May 3 from Bellevue High School in Bellevue, Washington, is the ninth of a 13-game prep schedule in Washington state to be streamed live on YouTube via The Lacrosse Network.

Friday’s matchup features two of the most dominant boys teams on the West Coast throughout four decades of prep play in Washington state.

In 2013, Mercer Island and Bellevue are deadlocked on top of the Division I King West Conference with identical 14-2-0 records.  Both are 10-0-0 in league play with just four regular-season games remaining.

Combined, coach Ian O’Hearn’s Islanders and coach John Baumann’s Wolverines have made 30 boys state championship appearances in Division I & II play over the past 35 years.  Bellevue has appeared in a Washington state boys title game 18 times, while Mercer Island has earned a berth in the finals 12 times.  Including last season’s defeat of Eastside Catholic in the Division I state championship, the Wolverines have 11 boys state titles to its credit while the Islanders have won it all six times.

Veteran lacrosse broadcaster Scott Ohsman will handle the play-by-play with the Hall of Famer Tony Olney at his side as the color analyst.

Catch all of the action on The Lacrosse Network at www.YouTube.com/TLN or at www.WashingtonHSlax.com .

The webcast is a produced by the Washington High School Boys Lacrosse Association and Washington Schoolgirls Lacrosse Association through a partnership with The Lacrosse Network to stream local high school lacrosse games live on YouTube during the 2013 Washington state high school lacrosse season.

The relationship is the first of its kind for state high school lacrosse governing bodies and an international webcast provider.   The Lacrosse Network provides live webcasting of the sports two professional leagues the National Lacrosse League and Major League lacrosse along with the LXM Pro Lacrosse Tour.

A total of seven boys and six girls games will be streamed to an international audience on YouTube.

Washington state high school lacrosse games on YouTube will also be available for mobile viewing live and on demand via iPad, iPhone and most Android devices.
