3A KingCo soccer bracket

May 3rd, 2012 at Thu, 3rd, 2012 at 2:13 pm by Megan Managan

Unlike the baseball standings, which were finalized after regular season games finished yesterday (which is good because this rain doesn’t appear to be letting up), the 3A KingCo boys soccer standings won’t be complete until tomorrow.

Currently Mercer Island is the No. 1 team, but plays the No. 2 team Mount Si on Friday night. If Mercer Island wins Friday, they will be the No. 1 team out of KingCo and automatically earn a spot in the 3A state tournament as the District 2 No. 1 team.

Should the Islanders become the No. 2 team, things get complicated. MIHS would host the first round of the KingCo tournament on Monday, May 7 playing the No. 5 seed (Juanita) at 7:30 p.m. A win on Monday would move the team into a game on Wednesday, May 9 against the winner of the No. 3 vs. No. 4 game, and the winner Wednesday is the No. 2 team from KingCo which goes on to play Metro No. 4 to earn the final seed in the state tournament.

The state tournament begins Wednesday, May 16.
